RUTH PETERS
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our Mom, Ruth Peters on April 19, 2025 at 87 years old.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Ken, Kim (Rudy), Karrie, Kelvin (Teresa); grandchildren: Geoffrey, Amanda (Dan), David (Stephanie), Makayla, Katianna, Marcella; great-grandchildren: Avery and Baby Coleman; siblings: John (Lorraine), Mary (Ray), Sadie, Dorothy, Elizabeth, Margaret, Susan. Also she adored her many nieces and nephews who brought her joy.
She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Cornelius, parents, Katherina and John B Harder; siblings, Ann, Kerry, Ben, Helen.
Mom was born in Plum Coulee, Manitoba, where life on the farm was to survive, and she was pulled from school at 12 years old to work, and help to take care of household…baking bread at eight years old and more. She took pride and perfection in everything she did.
It brought her so much joy to have her family love her coveted Portzelky and Roll Kuchen. The best!
She loved to travel, Hawaii being her favourite, and her sister trips to Las Vegas happened often.
Her trophies from curling and baseball spanned from the 1950s to the 1990s. She earned many milestone certificates for donating blood. She reached over 100 donations.
While we wanted her around forever, Dementia and Diabetes ravaged her body and brain; it was time for peace.
Service will take place on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd., Winnipeg, MB.
Thank you to the care team of doctors, nurses and health care aides at the St. Boniface Hospital. We also want to thank family and friends for your support.
We hope she is in a perpetual garden of flowers which she created at their home on Mars drive for 58 years.
In honour of Ruth, please consider donating blood, or supporting Alzheimer or Diabetes associations.
Love, Ken, Kim, Karrie and Kelvin.

Ruth took the utmost pride in everything she did. My husband called her a cleaning dynamo! We loved her and will miss her. Tracy McLachlan & James Craig - Posted by: Tracy McLachlan (Friend) on: May 05, 2025
