Patricia Ann Linney (Mills), affectionately known as Pat, passed away peacefully on Friday afternoon, April 18, 2025, surrounded by her sons, Glen and Scott, who were holding her hands.
Pat was preceded in death by her mother, Tilda Louise Mills (Glans), her father, Alfred Edward Mills, her brother, Robert Mills, her sister, Judy Wright, and her husband of 64 years, Robert.
She leaves behind her eldest son, Glen Linney (Donna), their sons, Ryan and Trevor (Marissa), along with their two boys, Kyler and Keaton. Additionally, she is survived by her son Scott Linney (Tracey), their children, Brad (Megan and Tinley), and their daughter, Tatum, Tiana (Justin).
Pat met Robert at St. John’s High School, and they married on May 17, 1957. Her first professional position was as an analyst with the Winnipeg Grain Exchange. As was customary then, she ceased working prior to the birth of their first son, Glen, in 1962. Just two years later, Scott was born.
A dedicated mother and wife, Pat maintained the family home until returning to the workforce as a paraprofessional at Hampstead Elementary School. Having summers off enabled Pat and her boys to spend July and August at the family cabin on Sandy Lake, Ontario. As the family expanded, their wives and children also began spending cherished time at the cabin. To this day, the family gathers at Sandy Lake to reminisce and celebrate.
Pat worked at Hampstead Elementary until she and Robert retired in 1992. That same year, their first grandchildren, Brad and Ryan, were born. Two years later, Tiana and Trevor were welcomed into the family.
After Robert passed in 2021, Pat moved into Concordia Village where through her interests and activities; like cribbage, canasta, whist, bingo and multiple special events held at the village, she made and enjoyed the company of many cherished, new friends.
Last year, after celebrating her 90th birthday in Winnipeg, Pat enjoyed a long-awaited trip to Graceland with Scott and Tracey, fulfilling a lifelong dream.
As the saying goes, “good things come in small packages”, and Pat, standing at just 4'9", was indeed one of the best small packages to come to this family. She will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A Celebration of Life is planned for June 10, 2025, between 2:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St., West St. Paul, MB.

Sincere condolences to Glen & Donna, Scott & Tracey and their families. Your Mom was a very special lady and meant the World to Brian and I. She was always so kind, full of wit, and her beautiful smile lit up a room. She had amazing strength, small and mighty! We were glad we got to have a short visit with her a few days before she passed away. She will be missed deeply. Knowing she is free from pain and has been reunited with your Dad is the only blessing in this sad time. May your beautiful memories help you through this very difficult time. Love Brian & Marlene. - Posted by: Brian & Marlene Miller (Nephew & niece in law) on: May 03, 2025
