JACK TABAK
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Jack Tabak, who left us on April 18, 2025.
He was predeceased by his wife, Sharron (nee Margolis, 1981), his parents Josef (2003) and Musia (1988). Jack will forever be remembered by his daughter Haylee, granddaughter Samara/Ezra, brother Sheldon (Maureen), sister Sheila (Howie Raber).
Jack was born in Chernovitz, Ukraine. At the age of 12, Jack and his family boarded the M.V. Batory and headed to Canada. In Canada, Jack attended Champlain Elementary school and subsequently St. Johns High School. His academic excellence allowed him to pursue and achieve an electrical engineering degree from the University of Manitoba. Upon graduation, Jack worked at Manitoba Hydro for several years.
Jack was often seen with his glasses on, a coffee in his left hand and pen in his right, completing crosswords-no eraser required. He loved his crosswords and his coffee. Also, his dry sense of humour entertained everyone within ear shot of his witty remarks. A greeting such as "Hi Jack" always elicited the response "Don't say that at the airport". We will all miss you and your humour.
Special thanks to the staff and administration of The Simkin Centre for the care Jack received.
