Barbara passed away peacefully on May 9, 2025 after a courageous battle.

Mom was born in Winnipeg to parents, John and Margaret Zeiler (Douglas). She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her children, Debbie, James (Tina), Sean (Chantelle) and their father Wally; grandchildren, Matthew (Nancy), Brandon, Meghan, Melissa, Joshua, Danielle (Trevor), Hayden (Avery); great-grandchildren, Leonardo and Raymond; siblings, Jacqueline (Gordon), Frank (Karen), Gladys (Ed), Corrina (Bill); lifelong friend who was always there for Mom, Ann (Bruce); along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.

As per her wishes, cremation has taken place, and no formal service will be held. A family gathering will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.

A special thanks to the doctors, nurses, healthcare aides and staff at Selkirk Regional Health Centre. We cannot express how grateful we are for the amount of love, compassion and dignity you showed Mom these past months.

When tomorrow starts without me

Please try to understand

That an angel came and called my name

And took me by the hand;

The angel said my place was ready

In Heaven far above

And that I would have to leave behind

All those I dearly love.

But when I walked through

Heaven’s Gates

I felt so much at home

For God looked down and smiled at me

And told me, “Welcome Home”.

So when tomorrow starts without me

Don’t think we’re far apart

For every time you think of me

I’m right there in your heart!
