At the Poseidon Long-Term Care Home in Winnipeg, Manitoba, at 100 years of age, Mr. Leslie Taylor passed on November 27, 2024.
Mr. Taylor was predeceased by his parents, Ann Elizabeth Taylor and Edward Taylor, his brothers, Ernest, Charles, Arthur, Fredrick, and George, and his sisters, Rose, Ida, and Hilda.
Mr. Taylor graduated from Gordon Bell School in June 1944, where he had pursued Commercial Studies including bookkeeping, typewriting, and shorthand. He trained with the Canadian Armed Forces and worked in the Federal Civil Service until his retirement.
Mr. Taylor was an active member of the Holy Trinity Anglican Church as a chorister, and for many years as a member of the vestry.
Mr. Taylor travelled extensively to many countries during his early years, including many memorable visits with his cousin in Florida.
Special thanks to Barbara Sharpe, Clyde and Josie Falconer, River Heights Home Care staff, the staff of Deer Lodge Hospital 4th Floor East, the staff at Poseidon Long-Term Care Home 2nd Floor West, and Father Henry Falconer, all of whom gave generously of their time and energy to provide Mr. Taylor care, companionship, and assistance.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre on Friday, June 13, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at Brookside Cemetery following the service.
