Peacefully on Sunday, March 15, 2025, at River East Personal Care Home, John “Jack” Douglas MacLeod passed away at the age of 91 years.

Predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Olive (Thorvaldson), John leaves to mourn his passing, his children, Peggy (Ken Gibson), Karlene (Kent Johnston), Doug (Candace), Ken (Desiree); his grandchildren, Josh (Allanna), Kyle (Beth), Derek (Steph), Brett (Caitlin), Mila (Gavin), Keaton (Candace), Kiefer (Sasha); his great-grandchildren, James, Ian, Kaly, MacEverett, Madison and Jordyn. John was born in Winnipeg, MB and raised in the Interlake area. He was a quick learner, and although he left school at any early age, he became a skilled worker where he successfully supported a family of seven.

John leaves behind a legacy of hard work, quiet strength, and unconditional love. He will be profoundly missed and forever remembered by his family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Special thanks to all the caring staff of Catherine Place, Parkview Place and River East for accompanying and supporting Dad on his journey.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you remember him by lending a hand to someone in need - just as he always did.

Memorial service will be held Friday, May 23 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk, MB, with Pastor Jennifer Marlor officiating. The service will be livestreamed via a link at www.gilbartfuneralhome.com
