It is with sadness and loss in our hearts, we announce the sudden loss of our beloved mother and grandmother, Maureen Pedersen (nee Parkinson).
She is predeceased by our father and love of her life Henry Pedersen who passed July 3, 2002; her mother and father, George and Dorothy Parkinson; mother-in-law Johanna Christine Pedersen; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Anker and Lorraine Pedersen; brother-in-law Raymond Gluchi; grandson Jesse Pedersen and his daughter Hope along with numerous friends and loved ones whom touched her heart. She is survived and loved deeply by her four children, Jeffery Pedersen (Ruby), Kelli Barnett (Ted), Shane Pedersen and daughter-in-law Jacque and Leah Pedersen; sister Janis Matthews and brother David Parkinson.
She will be missed so much as a mother and grandmother to Breanne, Brenna, Dana, Ashley, Vanessa, Jorden, Tyson, Daniel and Matthew as well as numerous great-grandchildren and another due in June.
Maureen dedicated her life as a loving wife, and raising their children through the years "Tuffy" was away working and many years of sickness and health issues. She loved cooking and baking for our family occasions, visits and her friends and company in Sandy Hook, MB where she had built the beautiful home she loved so much.
Sadly Mom got very sick just over three years ago and although she pulled through, she developed dementia and moved into Springfield Seniors Complex in Oakbank, MB. The family expresses sincere gratitude to the staff for the great care and comfort she received. A special thank you to Clare Reimer for working so closely with Kelli to make the best for her.
She had a full lifetime and went peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 just as she had always hoped for! There were many special friends throughout the years that touched her heart and she loved all the company and times spent in her home. Thank you to all!
The family will be having a special Celebration of Life at a later date and there will be no official service.
Mom almost made it to Mother's Day when all of her children were home. We did get to visit and spend some time with her saying goodbyes, listening to music she loved, sharing stories and laughing and crying before her cremation. Thank you so much to Gilbart Funeral Home for exceptional support and last minute arrangements. We are grateful you made this Mother's Day happen for us and all your expertise and care you've given to us!
