RENALD PARENT
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Renald Parent on May 15th, 2025, at the age of 82. He was the devoted husband of Lorraine (Vermette), with whom he shared 60 years of love and partnership. He was a loving father to Robert (Lynne), Lise (Brian), Lynne (Pierre), Lucette (Dave), and Lianne (Michel), and a cherished Pepère to Félix, Cameron, Julianne, Mackenzie, Renée, Brie, Cloé, and Eric. He also leaves behind a large extended family.
Renald was raised in St. Joseph, Manitoba, and his education took him to various places, each of which offered unique experiences that shaped him into the remarkable man he was. His life was one of dedication to his family, hard work, and service to his community. Renald worked alongside his brothers on the family farm and later founded and operated Parent Seed Farms Ltd., which he eventually ran with his son and youngest brother. He spent a significant portion of his life contributing his time and energy to various community endeavours. Renald had a deep passion for history and was actively involved with the Musée St. Joseph Museum Inc. He was a visionary, always working on projects to better his community.
A man of great faith and wisdom, Renald inspired those around him, especially his children and grandchildren, to approach life with a sense of duty, humour, and inner peace. He was the heart of our family, and our many gatherings were marked by warmth, laughter, and deep care for one another. Renald loved to fish, a passion he passed on to his children and grandchildren.
Our family would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Jennifer, Alyssa, and the rest of the staff at Realcare, Shaftesbury Park Retirement Residence. Many thanks to Ali and all the medical staff at HSC and Grace Hospital, Riverview Health Centre as well as all the healthcare providers who cared for Renald in recent years.
Renald, Dad, Pepère, you will be dearly missed by all who knew you.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 4, 2025, as a come-and-go event from 1:00 to 4:00 P.M. at the Four Points Sheraton, 2935 Pembina Hwy, Winnipeg. A private family interment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Musée St. Joseph Museum Inc., Box 34, St. Joseph, MB R0G 2C0.
