CHARLES (CARMELO) SCIBERRAS
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our father, Charles Sciberras on May 14, 2025.
Dad is lovingly remembered by his children Donald (Valerie), Victoria (Richard), Linda and Paul.
Grandchildren Wendy (Ian), Bradley (Dana), Jesse (Dallas), Charlene (Jason), Brittany, Matthew (Elly), Grant and Adam. Great-Grandchildren Joshua, Logan, Ayva, Owen, Bret, Hudson, Madison and Avery as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
Charles was predeceased by his wife of 70 years Rose, son Peter, grandson Shawn, son-in-law Randy, parents Peter and Lucarda (Magro), sister Del and brothers Fred and Mike.
Dad was born and raised in Southside Transcona. He met the love of his life Rose Koblanski, and got married November 26, 1949, and resided in Transcona and Dugald.
Dad worked at Building Products of Canada as a fork-lift driver / shipper for over 40 years. Even after retirement, he was very active and was not one for sitting still. He had many interests in his younger years which included boxing, playing his guitar and curling. As he grew older he began cycling, skating and walking to keep himself in shape, all of which he continued into his 90’s. He measured his distances and kept a logbook of how far he had travelled with each activity. That led him to being featured in the Seniors Today newspaper for his skating accomplishment. Dad also enjoyed playing crib, cards, bingo and watching Jets Hockey and Blue Bombers play.
Dad treasured his time spent with his family and friends.
Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday May 30, 2025, at Green Acres Funeral Home.
Family would like to thank the nurses and staff of 2W of Maples Care Home for their care and support.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba.
