MARGARET JEAN ARSENIUK

1930 – 2025

Our mom Margaret passed away peacefully at home Sunday May 25, 2025. She was where she wanted to be right up to her very last moment. She was born in Lac du Bonnet area to Michael and Helen Zawislak.

She met dad, Tony July 1st after spilling her orange crush drink on him to get his attention. From there, the love story began.

Mom always wanted to be a mother, and boy was she ever an amazing mother to Lawrence, Linda, Leslie, Michael, Karen, Tim and Mark. A wonderful Grandma and great grandma. She adored each and every one of them.

Mom was a great cook and loved to share her talent for wonderful dishes with our dad and of course her lucky kids but always donated lemon pies to the church. Jams to her kids, grandkids and gifted jam to many people lucky enough to meet her through church and Dr’s offices.

Mom would shovel snow, keeping her yard and garden tidy. However, she loved her flowers, vegetable garden and sitting with family and friends on her deck in her beautiful rose garden. The sunshine all around her.

She travelled with friends and family to BC, USA, Israel, Poland, Cuba and Mexico talking to everyone she met and wishing them well.

She had a great sense of humour and put a smile on everyone’s face she met.

Each of us were her favourite. She bought all of us T shirts that said “You are my Favourite”! Although Tim said he was her favourite!

She loved to buy outfits for her grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as the new little kids in the neighborhood.

Faith was important to her. She even learned new technology to keep in touch with her church, family and friends.

She was predeceased by her husband Tony, infant son Thomas Mark, and son Michael. Her parents, siblings; Irene, Isabel and Edward. She will be greatly missed by her sister Olga and family.

A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday June 1, 2025, at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Avenue. Private family interment will take place at a later date.

Donations in her memory can be made to Glory Peace Church International, 1296 Main Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba R2W 3T5.

  • Margaret was a friend of my grandmas at Glory and Peace church. Whenever I attended she was always there to have something friendly or nice to say to me. She even gave me a birthday card and a gift one time and never forgot to ask me how I was doing. You will be missed dearly, your friend Aiden Dudzinski. - Posted by: Aiden Dudzinski (Friend) on: Jun 03, 2025
