It is with heavy hearts, we announced Wally passed away in Winnipeg, MB on May 23, 2025, at 89 years old.
He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Maggie Henry; brother Bill; sister Violet; first wife Mary; son Lawrence; nephew Lyle; and buddies, Ray and Wayne.
He is survived by his life partner of 38 years, Paulette Wiebe; sons, Walter (Michelle), Aaron (Susan) from Kenora ON, and Randall (Nathalie); daughter Sandra; grandsons, Jamie, Shane, Joseph, Joshua, Jordan, Devon, Logan and Jason; granddaughters, Roxanne, Rochelle, and Christine. Also left to mourn are many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and friends.
Wally wasn’t a man of many words, and he was private. If he considered you family or a close friend you knew it. His deep caring of Paulette and children could quietly be seen. Wally was a caring man, something that stayed with him even when he moved and lived in the nursing home.
His kindness will be missed.
In accordance with Wally’s wishes, cremation followed by a Celebration of Life will take place at 2:00 p.m. on June 13, 2025, at First Unitarian Church of Winnipeg, at 603 Wellington Crescent.
