It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Lindsay Roy O’Neill on June 9, 2025, at the age of 75.
Lindsay was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He and his beloved wife, Jeannette, later raised their family in St. Pierre-Jolys, where they built a life full of love and laughter.
Lindsay is survived by his devoted wife, Jeannette (née Gay); his son, Chris; and his daughter, Melanie (Richard); as well as his cherished grandchildren, Ford Patrick and Vienna Rose. He is also survived by his sister, Ruby Peters, and brothers, Dennis (Susan) and Paul (Michelle) O’Neill. Lindsay will also be dearly missed by his in-laws: Marcien (Grace), Evelyne, Lorraine, Francine, Adrien, and Mario, along with many nieces and nephews who adored him.
He was predeceased by his parents, Patrick and Rosalie O’Neill; his brother, Clifford; and his in-laws René and Elaine Gay, Bernard Gay, Gerald Gay, Richard Gosselin, and Tracy (née Catellier) Gay.
A lifelong lover of music, Lindsay played bass guitar in multiple bands throughout his life. His passion for music was matched only by his love for sports. Whether playing and coaching baseball, watching hockey, biking through town, or taking long walks, Lindsay believed in staying active and enjoying life to the fullest. He also had a special love for cats, always finding joy and companionship in their presence.
He will be remembered for his kind heart, infectious humour, and unwavering devotion to his family. A true family man, Lindsay always put his loved ones first while still pursuing the passions that brought him joy.
As per his wishes, no formal service will be held. A celebration of life will be planned at a later date, where family and friends can gather to honour his legacy and share memories of a life well lived.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

Our hearts go out to Jeannette and family. As a drummer, I played with Lindsay in bands for many years and Lindsay was truly a musician’s musician. Lindsay’s bass playing was always on target and we formed a very tight rhythm section. Lindsay was always a joy to be with and we formed a good friendship with him and Jeannette. I will miss talking to him very much and him sending a GO JETS on his Facebook whenever they played. Ron Holland. - Posted by: Ron and Leigh Holland (Friends) on: Jun 14, 2025
