It is with broken hearts that Gus' family announce his passing on May 26,2025. His world was just not the same after Rita, his wife of 73 years, passed away in March.
Gus will be forever missed and will always be in the hearts of his children, Debbie and Dain (Debbie); his grandchildren, Jay (Chris), Kyla, Kayla (Joe), Jaren (Jordan); his great-grandchildren, Trisitin, Ainsley, Easton, Remy, Mac, Drey; and many other cherished family members and friends with whom he shared fond memories.
Dad was a skilled handyman - as a young Dain used to say, "my Dad can fix anything"! He had a hard-working nature and loved working in his yard, especially cutting grass and gardening. But Dad's greatest happiness was being with his family - "Mother" and all the kids were the most important things in the world to him.
We are going to miss his quick wit and teasing nature but are comforted in the knowledge that Dad and Mom are together again forever...the way it was meant to be.
The family would like to gratefully acknowledge the care and compassion shown by the staff at Riverview Health Centre - Palliative Care and Poseidon Long-Term Care Home.
As per Gus' wishes there will be a private graveside service.
If so desired, a donation in Gus' memory, can be made to Abundant Life Lutheran Church, 3486 Raleigh Street, Winnipeg, MB R2E 1 B9.
