It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Karen Hunter, who was taken from us far too soon. Karen was a cherished mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, known for her warmth, kindness, and vibrant spirit.
She is survived by her daughter Lisa Ness (Tim); stepsons, Glen Hunter (Penny) and Brian; and her loving siblings, Donna (Paul), Barb (Craig), Barry (Alix), Chuck (Candy), and John (Carol); and sister- in- law Carole. Karen was predeceased by her beloved husband, Ted; and her brother, Hartley. She also leaves behind her treasured grandchildren - Roxanne, Cody, Taylor, Brittany, Stephanie, and Haley - along with many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Karen dedicated many years to Investors before retiring and embracing life alongside Ted, the love of her life. Above all, Karen found her greatest happiness at family gatherings and at Jessica Lake, where she and Ted shared endless cherished moments with family, friends, and their beloved dog, Lady. Whether gathering with loved ones, playing cards, and enjoying the beauty of the lake, those days were some of her most treasured memories.
Karen had a lifelong love of reading. She was also an avid fan of sports, cheering for the Blue Bombers, Blue Jays, and Jets
Karen’s presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her joy, laughter, and love enriched the lives of many.

A Celebration of Life will take place at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 3, 2025,at the Canad Inns Destination Centre Club Regent Casino Hotel, 1415 Regent Ave W Third Floor.
In her memory, donations can be made to the Dementia Society of Manitoba or the Humane Society.

My deepest condolences to Karen’s family. Karen and I met at work and became fast friends outside of the office. She was a truly beautiful soul and I am grateful for her friendship. I first met Karen at Investors Group and reconnected with her in Sage Creek. We recognized each other in the elevator one day and enjoyed many laughs together afterwards. It is with sadness that we read of Karen‘s passing. Although we had lost touch with Karen over the years, we have many fond memories of her, Ted, Glen, Brian and the MacCharles family at Jessica Lake. Karen’s bubbly personality and love of life were always evident.
