I have fond memories of spending time with my uncle David on the farm near Meleb, as a young person. For example, as a preschool child David and I ate cucumbers from the garden on the farm, we went into Meleb on a horse drawn carriage or sleigh (in the winter) to shop and to see a movie, he allowed me to steer the farm tractor when I was just a few years old, he let me help him bring fresh water from the well to the farm house using a horse drawn sled, we brought the cows to the pasture in the morning and back to the farm in the evening with help from Beauty (talented dog), he made me a bow and some arrows from tree branches, he went on the farm roof on Christmas Eve while I was in bed to shake bells pretending he was Santa Clause. I also remember how uncle David and aunt Jean welcomed me, my mother (Carol), and my father to the farm when I was a young adult. I moved away from Manitoba later in life. Yes, I have very fond memories of my uncle David. Jim Wright. - Posted by: Jim Wright (David Guzda was my uncle) on: Jun 29, 2025
