It is with deep sadness, we share the news that Dr. Gérard F. J. Huot, born January 29, 1949, in St. Boniface, Manitoba, peacefully passed away at Riverview Health Centre, on June 29, 2025.
Predeceased by his father, Dr. Jean-Marie; mother, Lucille; brother, Claude (Arlene), sister, Marie-Louise (Doug), brother in law, Anthony; Gérard is survived by his wife, Maria; sister, Yvonne (Brian); brother, Jean Marc (Angie); three nephews Aaron, Marco (Alona) and Remi; three nieces Alanna, Trisha (Travis), Charlene (Dan); one grandnephew Leo; four grandnieces Abigail, Kailey, Avery and Daniela; and numerous extended family members and many friends.
Gérard was a kind hearted man, always thinking of others. Through his studies and profession as a physician, he travelled across the globe, inclusive of France, the Dominic Republic, Haiti, New Zealand and Manitoba. In 2000, the Manitoba Medical Association (MMA) Humanitarian Award was bestowed upon him for his doctorial contributions, particularly for the work he undertook at the University of Manitoba's J.A. Hildes Northen Medical Unit.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Gerry was quietly larger than life. Very sorry to hear of his passing. He was generous with kindness, his medical expertise, culinary skills and friendship. Condolences from my family to yours. Dr. Huot was my dr. many years ago at Westbrook Medical Centre. He was one of the best and always took the time to take care of and listen and never rushed his patients out of his room.
