IRENE REGNIER

(nee DAMPHOUSSE)

It is with deep love and heartfelt remembrance that we announce the passing of Irène Régnier at age 85.

Born in Letellier, Manitoba, Irène was the beloved daughter of Clémentine and Joseph Damphousse. Her early years, growing up in a large and loving family, shaped her into the friendly and grounded woman so many came to know and admire.

Irène is lovingly remembered by her sons, Daniel (Jeanne), Robert (Liliane) and Michel (Lara), and her cherished grandchildren: Samuel, Alicia, Jasmine, Anne-Sophie, Emmett, Wyatt, and Max.

She is survived by her siblings: Henri Damphousse, Marie-Thérèse Lévesque, Noëlla Barnabé, Cécile Damphousse, Madeleine Dionne, and Gérard (Monique) Damphousse, sister-in-law Yvette (Armand) Rioux as well as many nieces and nephews. Irène was predeceased by her first husband Jules Régnier and her second husband Denis Gobin and several family members.

She married Jules Régnier of St. François Xavier, where they raised their three sons. As Director of the Caisse Populaire in St. François Xavier for over 25 years, she was respected throughout the community for her integrity, kindness, and steady leadership.

Following the sudden and early passing of Jules, Irène moved to St. Boniface and eventually began a new chapter with Denis Gobin.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff of Villa Youville in Ste. Anne for their attentive care which brought comfort and dignity to her days.

Irène was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

Thank you for everything. You are forever in our hearts.

Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Cathédrale de Saint-Boniface with tribute at 10:45 a.m.
