It is with deep sadness that the family of Marguerite Labelle (née Martine) announces her death on July 3, 2025. She passed away peacefully at the age of 96 in Actionmarguerite - St. Vital.
She is survived by her brother Jean and her brother Pierre (late Gladys), as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Louis as well as her brother Joseph (late Carol), her sister Agathe (late Pierre), her sister Anne-Marie (late Maurice), her sister Agathe (late Alfred), her sister Marie (late Armand), and her sister Thérèse (late John). They are the nine children of Hyacinthe and Francine (née Letellier) Martine.
Marguerite was born on June 8, 1929, in Grande Clairière, MB, where she spent her childhood. From the age of 15, she worked at the convent in Forget, Saskatchewan. She was a baker until 1950. Following this, Marguerite worked as a housewife for several families. After seven years in Rathwell, Marguerite moved to the Boisjoli family in 1977. It was here in St. Norbert that she met her future husband, Louis. They were married on January 9, 1978. Together, they were able to enjoy only two years before the sudden death of her beloved Louis.
Marguerite has always helped those in need. She regularly visited the Centre Hospitalier Taché and the elderly in her building. She spent many hours volunteering at the Thrift Store on Goulet Street. Following an accident on December 31, 2023, Marguerite was eventually placed at Actionmarguerite - St. Vital.
Marguerite's funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 11. The service will be held at the Roman Catholic church in St. Norbert, MB. The officiant will be Father Charles Fillion. Mass will be followed by interment at the parish cemetery.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Missionaries of Africa White Fathers (151 Despins St., Winnipeg, MB R2H 0L7). The family would like to thank the staff of Actionmarguerite - St. Vital for their care and support during Marguerite's illness.
