Condolences & Memories (8 entries)

  • A friend told me today that he lost his buddy, Aldo. I asked if he went to Grant Park High School and always had a smile on his face. Turns out it was my old friend Aldo who I had not seen in 40 years. I called him Aldo Nova, after a popular singer at the time and because of his love for cars. He was always so friendly kind to everyone and I'm sure there was a special place in Heaven waiting for him. Rest easy, Aldo. Condolences to the family on the loss of a wonderful guy. - Posted by: Dana (Graham) Kelly (Friend) on: Aug 14, 2025

  • We went to school together... only guy I knew that thought the Javelin would ever be a collectors car. One of the nicest guys I ever met in my life. Haven't seen him in years. His mom loved to yell at me... I never knew what she was saying. We were always excited to see what new vehicle he had gotten himself into. God speed Aldo... the world is a lessor place without you in it man. - Posted by: Dave Mennell (freind) on: Jul 21, 2025

  • Went to high school with Aldo and though did not chum around with him he always would say hi and had an ear to ear smile on him! Never forget that. Rest in peace my friend and Condolences and prayers go out to the family. - Posted by: Ken Hamin (Grant Parker) on: Jul 19, 2025

  • Our deepest sympathy to the Castagna family. - Posted by: G & K Blanco (Neighbour) on: Jul 18, 2025

  • Our deepest condolences to Aldo’s family. We have been friends with Aldo for over 30 years. He had the greatest sense of humour, always leaving us laughing. Aldo had a gift, everyone that met him loved him. He enjoyed coming out to our country home, working in the shop and then enjoying a meal together. He watched our daughters grow, he appreciated the latest cheap car that Emily bought and asked Laurie a thousand questions about her budding real estate career. Aldo was like family, being part of family gatherings and was there for every big milestone. Sadly Aldo’s Yamaha Big Wheel engine is sitting on my workbench for us to work on and a brisket is waiting for him to savour. We all miss you. - Posted by: Lawrence, Donna, Emily, Laurie (Skrypetz family) (Close friends) on: Jul 15, 2025

  • Very saddened to hear of Aldo’s passing. I got to know Aldo through my son-in-law Lawrence and daughter Donna‘s home in Oakbank. Aldo was easy to chat with and often laughed and joked around. We will miss him dearly. May you find comfort in loving memories. With heartfelt sympathy, Genevieve Price - Posted by: Genevieve Price (Friend) on: Jul 14, 2025

  • Cyndi and her brother Andrew were lifelong friends of Aldo. They grew up together, and Aldo became Andrew's son's godfather. When I first met Aldo about 18 years ago, we became close friends from day 1. We enjoyed jets games, bombers games, and all you can eat pasta at Olive Garden. His favorite was all you could eat shrimp at Red Lobster. Aldo, you are and will be missed so much!! May you rest in peace our friend. - Posted by: Cynthia (Croll) Slapinski & Ken Slapinski (Close Friends) on: Jul 12, 2025

  • We would like to offer our deepest condolences to Aldo's mother, brother, sister and nieces. So sorry for your loss. John, Eileen, Brad, Bruce and Bryan Krahn. - Posted by: John & Eileen Krahn (long time neighbor) on: Jul 12, 2025
