MARION EDITH MORRIS (DAVREUX)

Marion passed away July 7, 2025 in the Souris hospital with her children by her side. She had been ill for many months, but remained in her home until 2 weeks before her passing.

Marion will be remembered by her three children and families; Debbie (Joe) Baker, Wayne (Brenda) Morris and Margery (Brian) Croft. Her 4 grandchildren, Tracy (Carson) Adams, Trevor (Brittni) Morris, Kellie (Jeremy) Mavin and Jodie Baker. Great grandchildren, Hunter & Parker Morris, Claire Marvin and Molly & Max Croft

Marion was born on February 5, 1936 in the back of a sleigh on the way to Hartney. She is the youngest of eight children and a twin to her sister Marge who was born minutes before her. She was the last living member of her siblings.

Mom was predeceased by her husband Ray, her parents Rene & Lena Davreux, siblings, Cecil Davreux, May Manscheck, Vera Morrison, Myrtle Hammond, Neil Davreux, Clarence Davreux and Margery Weston.

Marion married Ray Morris in 1956. They farmed until dad retired in 1985, and their son Wayne Morris took over the farm. Mom loved gardening, you could see dill pickles that she made for days, she loved playing cards, picking berries, camping and playing bingo.

Throughout her life she worked at various jobs as well as being a farm wife/mother. If there was a paint job available, her and her twin sister Marge were on it. They were inseparable.

Mom had the best neighbors, who were also very close friends, who checked on her almost daily, cut her grass and looked after her dog Nikki while she was progressively failing in her health the last several months.

The family would like to thank the Souris Hospital and staff for their excellent care while Mom was admitted. Dr Cram and the nurses are greatly appreciated by us.
