Anita Therrien passed away peacefully at Red River Place on July 16, 2025. Anita was born November 24, 1933, in Laurier, MB. She married Romeo Therrien in Laurier on December 6, 1950.
Anita will be lovingly remembered by her son Robert (Judy) Therrien, daughter Elaine Therrien (Ira Minor), son Guy (Kim) Therrien, daughter Mariane (Mark) Riding, 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband Romeo and daughter Janine Therrien.
Anita was the oldest of seven children and will be sadly missed by her surviving brother Harvey Gamache, sister Dolly Cole, sisters-in-law, Irene Gamache, Denyse Kuindersma, Lorette Therrien, brother-in-law Lawrence (Leone) Therrien, as well and many nieces and nephews.
According to her wishes, Anita has been cremated. A mass will be held at the Notre Dame Church on July 29 at 1:00 p.m. in Selkirk, Manitoba. The service will be live streamed at the following site: www.gilbartfuneralhome.com. Interment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
