PAUL MARION
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Paul Marion on July 16, 2025, at age 50, after a courageous two-year battle with cancer.
Paul leaves behind his devoted wife, Tiffany Russell; his parents, Donald and Laurette; his sister, Nicole (Justin) and nieces, Janelle and Sophie; his brothers, Marc (Tatyana) and Daniel (Anna); his parents-in-law, Phillip and Lisbeth Russell; brother-in-law, Keegan (Stephanie) and nieces, Marni and Sydney; brother-in-law, Roland (Robyn) and nieces, Violet and Allie.
Born and raised in a warm, French-speaking household in Winnipeg, Paul was the second eldest of four siblings. As a spirited child, he was full of energy, excelling in sports, particularly hockey, whether on the ice or in lively street hockey games with neighbourhood friends.
A disciplined and humourous student, Paul thrived academically in school and was well-liked for his loyalty, integrity, playful nature and good sense of humour.
At 18, he and his brother Marc embarked on a spiritual journey to Italy, where they embraced religious life for six years. Spending their first two years in L’Aquila, they learned Italian and immersed themselves in the culture. Having learned piano as a child, Paul learned to play the organ for religious services, even playing the pipe organ on occasion. They spent the next four years in Rome, where they studied philosophy and theology, walking daily past the Colosseum and Roman Forum to attend the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas (Angelicum).
After seven years as a religious brother in Quebec, honing new skills, Paul returned to Winnipeg in 2006. He moved back home with his parents, reconnecting with his younger brother Daniel, who enjoyed hanging out with him, and his sister Nicole who helped his transition to lay life.
In 2010, Paul met the love of his life: Tiffany. From that point on, Paul and Tiffany became inseparable as they always enjoyed each other's company and spending lots of time together. They married in 2013, one of the happiest days of their lives, and became veritable "two peas in a pod." Tiffany meant the world to Paul.
Inspired by his father’s career, Paul became a chartered professional accountant in 2014. He balanced work with passions like carpentry and woodworking, reflecting his knack for creativity, precision and perfection.
In August 2023, Paul was diagnosed with glioblastoma, a shock to him and his loved ones. He faced the illness with determination, researching treatments and trials to extend his time with Tiffany, who enveloped him in lots of love, care and affection. Outliving his initial prognosis, Paul passed suddenly and quickly, surrounded in his final hour by his wife, parents, siblings, and mother-in-law.
A private funeral service will be held at a later date.

An incredibly bright, courteous young man who would have had a remarkable career with the Taxation Division (or any other place he may choose to be employed). In meeting Paul, you would quickly surmise he is one that would "bloom wherever he was planted".
