Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySEAN ALEXANDER LAWSON
With great sadness, we announce the passing of Sean Alexander Lawson at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba on July 14, 2025, at the young age of 37 years. Sean was a beloved father, son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, uncle, friend, and colleague. His passing has created a tidal wave of grief crashing over everyone who loved him.
Sean was born on March 26, 1988, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He is survived by his beloved son, Brody; parents, Christopher and Brenda Lawson (née Mason); sister and brother-in-law, Tamara and Nelson Bueckert; brother, Keir Lawson; and grandmother, Mildred Mason. Also surviving Sean are his aunts and uncles: Pamela Mason, Greg and Kathy Lawson, Tim and Jean Lawson, Brad and Fiona Lawson, Doug and Judy Mason, George and Janis Mason, Bill and Cyndi Mason, as well as their families. Sean leaves a huge circle of friends who are mourning him. Sean also leaves his beloved cat, Leonard.
Sean was predeceased by his grandparents, William Mason and Ardythe and Harry Lawson; as well as his cousin, Jacqueline Lawson. He loved them dearly and felt their losses deeply.
Sean spent most of his childhood in Stonewall, Manitoba and developed many close and enduring friendships there. He worked for many years at Winpak in Winnipeg and considered his colleagues to be good friends. Sean’s purpose and focus in life was the well-being of his son. He was an incredible father to Brody and Brody trusted Sean like no other - they were a team. Sean and Brody were making a good life for themselves in their home in Teulon, Manitoba before Sean was tragically taken from us through a senseless act of violence. It is our hope that justice will be served.
A private family interment is taking place. Sean’s Celebration of Life will be held in late August so that family, friends, and colleagues have an opportunity to honour Sean. No flowers please. Some kind citizens in Teulon have spearheaded a donation fund to support Sean’s son. Donations can be made at any Access Credit Union in Manitoba (Funds for Brody: Member #5396) or e-transferred to fundsforbrody2025@gmail.com.
We will all hold precious memories of you in our hearts, Sean, and we will ensure that Brody has the life he deserves. We will love you forever. A photo biography honouring Sean’s life is accessible through the ‘tributes’ link below.

Brenda, Chris and family, How does one express their thoughts with such a very tragic loss. No words can express how this loss has affected you. And, those around you are deeply saddened as well. This act of aggression has caused grief that will always be with you. My most sincere and caring thoughts are with all of you as you walk this journey. May knowing that you are wrapped in caring thoughts give you strength to face each new day. In sympathy, Joycelyn - Posted by: Joycelyn F.-G. (Former colleague) on: Jul 30, 2025
