With profound sadness and broken hearts, we announce the passing of Margaret Heather who left us peacefully at the age of 74 years, surrounded by the love of her family.
Marg is survived by her loving husband, Ian; her sons, Grant (Sheri) and Graham (Ashley), her granddaughter Madison, and sister, Janet, and a wide circle of family and friends.
Ian and Marg were married July 3, 1971 and in 1978, Marg began her role of stay-at-home Mom. She was the heartbeat of her family, always putting Ian and her boys’ needs before her own. In 2007, Marg added the title of ‘Grandmother’ when Madison was born. She doted on Maddie.
In 2001, Marg decided she needed a new pursuit and took on the position of Executive Secretary for the Winnipeg West Rotary Club where she continued to build the community and help others, being made an a honourary member in 2016 upon her retirement. Marg lived a life full of volunteerism and commitment to community.
Marg enjoyed traveling and exploring new places and took so many special trips with their boys, but also on their own or with family and friends in their retirement years.
During retirement, Marg and Ian pursued a love of “Old Time Dances”. In 2023, they moved to the Link and quickly became involved in the many social activities that take place there.
A Celebration of Life will be held on July 29, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Neil Bardal Funeral Center at 3030 Notre Dame Ave. A live stream will be available at https://www.hdezwebcast.com/ show/margaret-heather
