DOLLY RAMBARAN

February 16, 1934 - August 1, 2024

Our mother passed on August 1, 2024 in the Grace Hospital after a short illness. She spent the last year of her life in the Rosewood Assisted Living community where she made new friends and was an active participant in daily activities. The caring staff at Rosewood noted she was always in good spirits, interested in and helpful to other residents and the staff. She kept her children on high alert until the end! Her courage is admired in bringing her four children to Canada to join her husband/their father in 1967 and working very hard to create a new life. We all miss her caring nature and delicious cooking. She was predeceased by an infant daughter, Vashti, her husband Ramlal and son Joe. Cremation performed per Dolly’s wishes. A Celebration of Life gathering was held at the Rosewood August 9 2024. We thank all who stayed in touch with and supported Dolly over the years.

Vish, Sharmain, Shaney, spouses, grandchildren.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Hi Cousins, I just saw this now. I am always thinking of your mom because she was like a 2nd mom to me after my mom passed. Auntie Dolly was the greatest cook and the most supportive person to everyone who knew her. I happily remember Auntie standing in the front row of the Isaac Brock gymnasium cheering over the academic awards that Shaney and Sharmain received and the one academic award I received. I happily remember the congratulations dinner Auntie Dolly and Uncle Ramey made for me when I graduated with My Chartered Accountant designation. I also remember the wonderful celebrations of life Auntie Dolly had for Cousin Joe and Uncle Ramey. Auntie Dolly is deeply missed, fondly remembered and very much admired for all the wonderful things she accomplished in her 90 years. - Posted by: Kim Goolia (Niece) on: Oct 19, 2025
