IRENE BEVERLY BUSS

Irene Buss, 81, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2025, reuniting with her beloved husband of 56 years, Charles, who preceded her in death in 2021.

Born June 11, 1944, in Winnipeg to Marion and Julia Lozinski, Irene grew up in Hadashville, Manitoba. She married her high school sweetheart Charlie in 1965 and devoted herself to raising their two daughters before working as an accounting specialist for many years.

Irene’s true passion was gardening, and her beautiful gardens were the pride of the neighborhood. After Charlie’s passing in 2021, her flowers continued to bloom, but the light in her eyes had dimmed without her lifelong companion.

She is survived by daughters Shandel Happychuk (Tim) of Winnipeg and Shawnda Recksiedler (Ash) of Colorado; grandsons Matthew and Ben; and sisters Lorraine (Leonard) and Elaine (Brian).

Thank you for all your love and for always looking out for us over the years. Your memory will live on in our hearts forever, and you will be dearly missed.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB

Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • I really didn't know your Mum but I knew where she sat on Sunday after your Dad died. Walked by her every time I was on my way to choir on a Sunday Am. And spoke to her often. That spot will be empty and I will think of her as walk by now. Blessing to each of you, Life changes after our parents are gone, but life goes on. And God cares for His own. - Posted by: Donna Harper (a member of your Mum church) on: Sep 26, 2025

  • You are loved and missed a lot mom. As a child and in my adult years, you were always there to lend a helping hand. You were there to help the garden grow with all the beautiful flowers in a row. You will be missed and always remembered as you rest in peace and reunite with dad. - Posted by: Shandel (Daughter) on: Sep 23, 2025

  • Irene & Charlie were true friends for over 50 yrs. since Monika & I met them in Thompson, Man. in 1967. Although we left Winnipeg due to work the four of us kept in touch and visited many times over the years watching our families grow. It is sad that another chapter in life ends and I am the only one left from the four. My condolences to Shondell, Shonda and their families.
