SYDNEY VICTORIA PUNTON
With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Sydney Punton of Winnipeg, Manitoba, who died on September 19, 2025, at the age of 30. Sydney was a beloved daughter and sister, a cherished granddaughter, a devoted mother and friend, and a kind-hearted, radiant soul who will be profoundly missed.
Sydney leaves behind her sweet daughter, Saffiyah (Saffy) Khidir, and Saffy’s father, Abdullah Khidir; her parents, Shannon Marion (Michel Rioux) and Tim Punton (Julie Punton); her sister, Courtney Punton (Coleman Rasmuson); her aunt, Jocelyne Garnett (Kent Bretzlaff); her grandparents, Marcelle Marion, Ray Garnett, and Mona Sala; her special rescue dog, Kyrie; and many great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins, friends, and neighbours.
She was predeceased by her uncle, Kelsey Garnett, and her grandfathers, Pierre Marcotte and George Punton.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 3, in the Jean-Paul Aubry Room at the Centre Culturel Franco-Manitobain (340 Provencher Boulevard, Winnipeg, Manitoba). All who wish to pay their respects are welcome.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, in honour of Sydney’s love for animals.
