Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN LAZARENKO
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father and grandpa, John Lazarenko. He passed away on September 29, 2025, at the age of 94 after a lengthy battle with dementia.
He will be forever remembered by his children; Randy (Shannon) Grant (Micheline), Wendy (Everett) and Mitchell (Meagan) and grandchildren; Patrice, Lanissa (Ryan), Laura (Ross), Tara (Erich), Blake (Zoe), Joshua, Jared (Alyssa), Andrew, Cameron, Danielle, Ayden and Avary. His sisters, Nellie Oberton, Elsie Glisinski and sister-in-law, Judy Lazarenko will cherish his memory.
John was predeceased by his beloved wife, Gail (Trimble) and their son Jeff (in infancy). Also his parents, William and Maria, his brothers and their spouses; Tom (Doris), Anne (Mike/John), Kay (Bill), Mike, Nick (Olga), and Harry along with two siblings that passed away in infancy.
John was born on November 6, 1930, and grew up in Arborg, MB. At a young age, dad helped out with daily chores and as he grew older, he helped his family on the homestead. He developed a strong work ethic and a deep love for his family. He then met the love of his life while on a blind date through a friend of Gail's and they were married on July 25, 1959. They moved to Winnipeg and raised four children. John worked for the City of Winnipeg (street maintenance) then moved on to work at Columbia Tire up until his retirement.
Dad's hobbies were house renovations and tinkering in his garage. He was a jack of all trades. Quitting time was when the grandchildren had sleepovers and he cherished family gatherings.
He was a devoted father, always there to offer guidance and support. He will be deeply missed.
We would like to thank Oakview Place for taking very good care of "little Johnny" up until the very end. In keeping with dad's wishes, there will be no service.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba in John's memory.
Until we meet again...

My condolences to kids and grands. He was so very proud of all of you. He's dancing the polka with your mom and maybe even doing the square dance. I'm thinking of you all. You will have many memories that will help you. Sending hugs to you all. Love from Auntie G and Uncle Barry in heaven . - Posted by: Gladys Green (Sister in law) on: Oct 14, 2025

We always loved visiting with John at the family gatherings. He always liked to talk and joke with everyone. Fond memories of when the kids and I would stay overnight and Kristi and Tim would spend the day with Uncle John and Auntie Gail while I had a day of shopping. And of all the times they would come to the farm for Christmas. Sincere condolences to the families. Precious memories held close to the heart will help you through this difficult time. - Posted by: Willard & Opal Barnes (Brother/Sister in law(s)) on: Oct 11, 2025
