Surrounded by friends and nature, Ronald “Ron” Joseph Charles Maier died at the age of 61. He was on a long-awaited hiking trip of the Rockwall Trail in Kootenay National Park.
Please join us for a celebration of Ron’s life at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 18, at the Caboto Centre (1055 Wilkes Avenue).

Dr. Ron Maier was an exceptional teacher and mentor. During my five years in Winnipeg as a surgical resident, I had the privilege of working with Ron on and off the emergency and trauma services. He consistently upheld the highest standards of integrity, compassion and excellence, inspiring all of us to be better physicians. He brought a stabilizing presence to the ER; someone I knew I could always count on. He will be deeply miss.
