It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Christine Dewar, aged 84, at the Grace Hospital on October 19, 2025.
She is survived by her son, Richard Dewar. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald Dewar, sister Dietlinde (Ditta) Cripps, brother Michael, parents George and Christina Simonis, and stepmother Rosina (Sini) Simonis.
Cremation has already taken place. A longer obituary, including an announcement of plans for a Celebration of Life will be published at a later date.

How sad, Mrs. Dewar (Chris) was my high school teacher in Arborg. She cared for her students which was most evident years later when our careers brought us together, her as a Librarian at St. Johns High & myself as the Police School officer! Fast forward another decade or two and she shows up at my book launch "Snowbird Sketches" with another former teacher in tow! We (Sharon & I) had a great visit with her, this visit afforded me the chance to apologize to her for being a less than desirable student (she forgave me)!
