Our family is saddened to announce the passing of our brother and uncle, Michael Jeffrey Cooke, on October 11, 2025.
Dearly beloved son of Norma and Ronald Cooke (deceased). Cherished brother of Dianne O'Connor, James Cooke and the late Debbie Cooke. Dear uncle of David and Christopher O'Connor, Bhajan Cooke and Padme Raina. Great- uncle of Pthalo Folkerth, Maitland and Colton O’Connor.
Michael had a wonderful sense of humour; he was a great comic and a caring, kind, loving, and positive presence in our lives. He enjoyed life to the fullest and treasured every moment. He never complained about the difficulties he faced; he moved forward despite them and continued to appreciate the gifts in his life, including his many friends and those who helped him along the way, especially those who cared for him at Riverview Health Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He cherished his partner and friend, Adrienne, and was a caring and loving presence in the life of her granddaughter, whom he loved very much.
Michael was an extremely talented musician. He was a gifted writer and artist, but music was his passion. He loved nature and the outdoors and was an avid, expert canoeist. He loved to walk and explore wherever he was and enjoyed cross-country train and bus trips, staying up all night just watching the scenery pass by.
He lived a rich, full life, and he will be missed. A family celebration of his life will be held later.
