Peacefully on Monday, October 13, 2025, Gladys passed away at the age of 96 years.
Gladys grew up in Canora, Saskatchewan and moved to Winnipeg in the late 1940s as a young woman. This is where she met her husband, Raymond and built a life and career here. Most of her family lived in Saskatchewan and they frequently went back to visit.
Gladys will be lovingly missed by her sister Vicky Fedorchuk, her brothers Henry Tratch (Sylvia) and Ken Tratch. She will be lovingly missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and dearly missed by her nieces, Jane Alderdice of Winnipeg, and Kim (Tim) Fesciuc of Regina.
Gladys was predeceased by her husband Ray, her sisters Anne Berbenak and Olli Ulbricht; her brothers Walter and Andy Tratch; her sisters-in -law Merle Tratch, Esther Tratch and Helen Gobeil; her brothers-in law Peter Berbenak ,Mervin Gobeil , Harry Ulbricht and Al Fedorchuk.
After a long career with the Federal Government in many different departments Gladys retired in 1989.
Gladys enjoyed many travels throughout the world with her husband Ray during their marriage. In their retirement they continued their travels enjoying many interesting places including Ukraine and Australia. One of their last trips together was on a train/bus tour of parts of Saskatchewan. Gladys treasured those memories of all their travels and was always willing to share those memories.
Gladys enjoyed many crafts including Cross Stitch and Wood Painting. Many of us received gifts that showed us just how talented she really was.
In the last few years Gladys spent countless hours on her iPad painting pictures and then sharing them with family and friends by email.
In compliance with Gladys’s wishes cremation has taken place. No formal service will be held. A private family interment will be held at a later date.
The family would like to thank the caring staff at the Waverley Assisted Living and Tuxedo Villa Personal Care Home where she spent her last few years.
