CHANTAL CATELLIER

March 12, 1974 - October 12, 2025

Chantal Catellier, beloved daughter of Jacques and Irene, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 12, 2025, surrounded by family, friends, and love.

She was a proud and devoted mom to Janique, Sylvie, and Miguel Van Den Driessche, whom she shared with their father Rémi Van Den Driessche.

Chantal was also a cherished sister to Joanne (Alain), Andrée (Alain), and Claudelle (Dan), a caring aunt, niece, loyal friend to many, and a loving companion to Al Goertzen.

Fiercely independent and strong-willed, Chantal lived life on her own terms - guided by strength, instinct, and a generous heart. A passionate advocate, social worker, and counsellor, she was known for her compassion, wit, and ability to make others feel seen, supported, and loved. She reminded everyone that life is meant to be lived fully, that laughter heals, and that family and friendship matter most.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB, with interment at St. Malo Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • I met Chantal in November 1999, she was new in her social work career. She was spunky, hard working and dedicated in her work with children, youth and their parents. She demonstrated dedication, integrity, empathy and a genuine caring about those for whom she worked and for her team members. She was appreciated and respected by colleagues and collaterals. I recall when she became a mother and in the role of parent, she shined with love and pride. She had boundless energy, a genuine “ joie de vivre” and a remarkable love of life. To her children, siblings, and her companion in life, I want to express my profound sympathy. I hope that her love and the cherished memories that you have of dear Chantal will sustain you during this loss. May she Rest in Peace after a well fought battle. - Posted by: Claudette Dorge (Former colleague) on: Oct 25, 2025
