Frances Jean Partridge

Frances Jean Partridge, age 98, of Winnipeg, passed away Tuesday morning, October 14, 2025, at Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg. She was born October 19, 1926, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA, daughter of the late Joseph and Katherine Ardagno.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Murray Partridge and her eldest daughter, Katherine Wyckoff.

Fran was an accomplished artist and a lifelong learner in all areas of art, exploring everything from painting, printmaking, pottery, wood carving, creative writing and floral design. She was a long-time member of the Medea Gallery, the Printmakers Association, the Winnipeg Sketch Club, as well as owner of Mini Flowers florist on Henderson Highway. She was adored in the many communities she was a part of, including horticultural societies and art groups, and her passion allowed her to teach these skills to others.

She loved telling people she was a "war bride", since she met Murray (a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force, stationed in PEI during WW2) while he was on furlough in Boston and they married as soon as the war ended. They lived and grew their family in both Canada and the US, with the last and final move to Winnipeg in 1968. Murray and Fran's East Kildonan home was always open to those in need, whether it be a temporary residence or a holiday meal, all were welcome!

She is survived by her children, Robert Partridge (Carol), Nancy Partridge (Brian), Philip Partridge (Debra), Linda Partridge (Larry), Jane Vanstone and Cecile Mahoney; grandchildren, Richard Wyckoff, Elizabeth Wyckoff, Amy Haines, Michael Partridge, Alaina Partridge and Rena Vanstone; great-grandchildren, Niko and Luka Bouinachov, Quinn Haines, Lyric and Walker Partridge and Giselle Asuncion.

As per Fran's wishes, there will be no public service. Interment will take place at Chapel Lawn on November 7.
