Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGENE (JEAN EUGENE) BAZELO
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gene Bazelo of Falcon Lake MB, at Villa Youville in Ste. Anne, at the age of 86.
Gene was predeceased by his mother, Jeanne (Jean) Davies (née Bonneteau) in 1990, and his father, John William Bazelo in 1947. Dad is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Lorraine (nee Dubé), daughters, Lori Bazelo (Corey Doerksen) and Carol Styles (David), grandchildren, Kierra Bazelo, Nicholas and Gordon Styles. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed.
Dad never needed an invitation to share his opinion or personal brand of common sense. Always the life of the party, people were naturally drawn to him. He loved being outside in nature, no matter the weather. He was very proud of his daughters and grandchildren.
Dad worked harder than anyone we know. None of us could hold a candle to his work ethic and boundless energy. When dementia crept in a few years ago, robbing Dad of his ability to do things he loved, it was very hard for him and those who loved him, to watch. After a few years of tireless care from Mom, we made the difficult decision to admit Dad into care. We are very grateful for the amazing team at the Villa, for their genuine and thoughtful care, and support for our family. Thank you! Merci! We also wish to thank the Ste. Anne Home Care team.
Per Dad’s request, no service will be held and cremation has taken place. In lieu of a service, a digital tribute has been arranged with Birchwood Funeral Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.

Carol, Lori and Mrs. Bazelo my sincere condolences. Mr. B or Gene as he preferred was always "the guy" who lit up every room and was for sure the life of every party. His home brew was legendary! Falcon Lake was touched in so many ways by his incredible work ethic and willingness to always lend a hand. - Posted by: Kareen Mcconnell (Friend) on: Oct 25, 2025
