With sadness the family of Jake (Jack) Peters announces his passing on Monday, October 6, 2025, at the St. Pierre hospital.
Born February 17, 1953, to Jake and Eva Peters, Jack spent his school years in Winkler. In 1969 he moved to the Grunthal area to help out on the family dairy farm. Jack spent many summers working with a local building mover. Later he worked with his brothers Frank and Abe on construction projects in the remote areas of northern Manitoba.
In 1990 Jack bought a beet farm in the Ridgeville area. He farmed until his retirement, after which he moved to the town of Vita. Although he would give away much of the produce to friends and neighbours, Jack enjoyed gardening.
Jack is survived by his brother John, (Joyce). He is also survived by nephew Sean (Jocelyn), niece Jan (Kevin), nephews Conrad (Jamie), Dallas (Theresa), nieces Carol (Jason), Tammy (Marc) and Sharlene. Surviving sisters-in-law Ann Peters, and Ida Charette kept in close touch.
Jack was predeceased by his father Jake (1989), siblings Frank (1996), Shirley (2015), Abe (2016) and his mother Eva (2017).
At his request there will be no service, and cremation has taken place.
