ERIC SEFTON

Eric Michael Sefton, 63, passed away in Chetwynd, B.C on October 20, 2025.

Eric was born in Brandon, Manitoba on February 5, 1962. He grew up in the Wheat City, attending Valleyview in his early years and finishing Highschool at Vincent Massey. He started his career path with Stewart & King where he moved to Thompson as an Optician and traveled to northern communities. After leaving Stewart & King, he attended college and completed a Business Administration program. With vast knowledge and experience he held various positions throughout the years including Director of Education in Lac Brochet and Fleet Manager at CAA in Brandon. His final move was in the summer of 2024 to Chetwynd, British Columbia after accepting a position as Director of Operations for West Moberly First Nation. There he passed away suddenly on October 20, 2025.

Eric had a love for golfing, hockey, skidooing, hunting, fishing, gardening and of course his family. Eric was a loyal and lifelong fan of the Brandon Wheat Kings, of which he was a season ticket holder, and the Philadelphia Flyers, always sporting his teams proudly. He had a wonderful sense of humor, always quick with a comeback or funny joke, leaving a lasting impact on all who crossed his path. He enjoyed volunteering with Operation Red Nose in Brandon or at the Christmas dinner in Thompson.

Eric is survived by his wife Therese; children Kevin (Victoria), Jordan, Christopher, Alannah (Nick), Tristan and Colin (Amy); grandchildren Kayla, Ferran, Blair, Brittany, Dixie, Henry and Rowan; brother Mark (Jean); sisters Nancy (Dan) and Karen (Don). Eric is predeceased by his father and mother, Gordon and Barbara Sefton. Eric has nieces and nephews as well as extended family members throughout Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia, and the USA. He will be dearly missed by his family and by the friends that he had made throughout his life.

Eric was an amazing father and grandfather. He spent his summers traveling with his family across Manitoba. He had a passion for cooking, cookouts, BBQs and making his signature dishes like cabbage rolls and cookies, always gathering the family for a meal.

-"A fathers love is forever imprinted on his child’s heart."

We would be pleased if you could join us in remembering Eric on November 7, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Knox United Church in Brandon, Manitoba. Refreshments will be available following the service.

The family asks for no flowers during this time.
