With deep sadness, the family of Brian Daniel Broughton announces his peaceful passing on October 10, 2025, at Grace General Hospital in Winnipeg, at the age of 89. He was surrounded by many members of his loving family.
He is lovingly remembered by his children, Jeffrey (Corrina), Daphne (Richard), Christine, and Brad (Joanne); his 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; siblings, Malcolm (Gwenny), Oscar, and Jennifer (Daryl); and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family across Canada, the United States, Australia, and India.
Born in Bangalore, India, Brian married Marine on June 5, 1957. In 1981, they immigrated to Canada with their family, joining relatives already settled in Winnipeg.
Brian worked in security services, concluding his career with the Government of Manitoba at Red River Community College. He was proud of his work and enjoyed the camaraderie of his colleagues.
A lifelong sports enthusiast, Brian excelled in athletics, cricket, and field hockey during his youth, later becoming an avid fan of Canadian sports and a passionate golfer. He was also a devoted animal lover, remembered fondly for his companionship with his dog Dusky.
Known for his warmth, humour, and generous spirit, Brian loved to entertain family and friends, sharing stories, laughter, and good food. He was an active member of St. Andrew’s Anglican Church and enjoyed the fellowship of the Men’s Club.
Brian will be remembered for his kindness, integrity, and love for his family. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Funeral Service and Reception: Thursday, November 6, 2025,10:30 a.m. at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, 2700 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB.

Interment: Thursday, November 6, 2025, at Brookside Cemetery, 3001 Notre Dame Avenue, Winnipeg, MB.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Brian’s memory to a charity of your choice.
