It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Helen Lena Wiebe, who went to be with her Lord on October 14, 2025, at the age of 87.
Helen was born on June 25, 1938, in Roseisle, Manitoba, to Anne and George Thiessen. She spent her early years in the countryside before settling in Winnipeg, where she lived most of her adult life.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Alvin, her parents Anne and George, her brothers George, John, and Dave, and her cherished children Timmy, Cyndi, Joey, and Jayne.
Helen will be lovingly remembered by her surviving children and grand children: Jacquie (Kent) with daughters, Kristyn and Janelle, grandson Matthew, and granddaughter Carly; Michael (Erin) with daughters, Kailey and Maya; and Karen with daughter Gracie and son Kennedy.
Helen was also survived by her sister Anne McFarlane (Ken), brother Jake Thiessen, sister-in-law Irene Thiessen, and many nieces and nephews.
Helen’s life was marked by quiet strength, deep faith, and boundless love for her family. She will always be remembered for her warmth, her resilience, and her unwavering devotion to those she held dear. Helen’s uncanny wit, sense of humour, and her heart of gold always made everyone smile. Her adversity in life always made her one of the strongest people anyone had ever met. She will be remembered forever, and missed each and every day.
A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to be made to a charity of choice in Helen’s memory.
Her love and legacy will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew her.
