It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Catharina Groot at the age of 94 in Winnipeg. Cathy passed away peacefully on November 11, 2025 with her loving husband by her side.
She is survived by her husband Jack, and children Marianne (Karl), Wally (Pauline), and Judy.
Cremation has already taken place, and a private family interment will be scheduled at a later date.
The family wishes to thank the Maples Care Home for their care and compassion.

On behalf of my sister, Pat from Maples PCH and my wife Kathy, and myself Rick, we extend our condolences and sympathy to the family. Kathy was a special friend to my sister at the Maples PCH, as they would have meals together in the common area and then sit and solve the world's problems over afternoon snacks and juice. She was also a great whistler,and had a kind word for my wife and I. We told my sister Pat today Nov.22 about her friend Kathy passing and she had a cry and wished her a safe journey to heaven.
