Born on November 10, 1939, in Steinbach, the 11th out of 12 children. He grew up on a farm in La Broquerie, in a home rich in love, laughter and sibling mischievousness.
André moved to the city and eventually co-founded Transcona Roofing along with his brother Jean.
Sparks flew when he met and married Huguette, and together they had three children.
His family was André’s greatest joy. Whether camping when we were young, gathering for birthdays and holidays or sharing a meal, he was happiest when we were all together. He loved road trips to La Broquerie, and travels to destinations around the world.
He was passionate, in supporting, watching or coaching his children in all their sports. He sometimes was too passionate for his beloved Winnipeg Jets and Blue Bombers.
In Dad’s retirement, he enjoyed many summers at Lilac and winters in Mesa golfing, playing cards or solving the world’s problems with friends, in a pool or over coffee at McDonald’s. André was a man with deep religious faith; he sometimes attended mass twice in a day. This also showed through always being there to volunteer and willing to help anyone in need.
A funeral service will be held at Holy Family Church/ Paroisse Sainte-Famille -774 Archibald Street at 10:00 a.m. on Friday November 28, 2025. Private interment to follow.

It was with sadness that I heard of Andy’s passing.I worked with Andy at Transcona Roofing for many years and got to know Andy quite well. He was a great boss, friend and we even went to the Grey Cup in Toronto one year. You will be missed! My condolences and sympathy to the family from myself and my wife Ida. - Posted by: Ron Allaire (Past employee) on: Nov 28, 2025

Andre and his brother Jean were one of my favourite clients to visit when I was working as a CA. Their approach to running a major construction company was unique and successful. Andre was straight forward and ready to joke or tease but was always serious about his role in the company. My trip with him to the roof of a major Portage Avenue roof top remains clear in my mind today. Bumping into him at a Goldeyes game or McDonalds always gave me a smile that lasted. - Posted by: Jim Baker (Former Client) on: Nov 28, 2025

Viviane Walker - Posted by: Viviane Walker (Connaissance) on: Nov 22, 2025

- Posted by: Helene McCarthy (cousine) on: Nov 22, 2025
