Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryR.K. PAUL MAJOR
It is with deep sorrow that Paul’s family announce his passing after battling cancer this year. Paul was surrounded by his loving family, at home and assisted by MAIDS. In his usual style, he left this world on his own terms.
Paul was predeceased by mother Thelma Major and father Ross Major, and daughter Paula Major.
He will be dearly missed by loving sons Tyler, (Kristina) Gray, (Madeline) and his 4 adored Grandchildren. Mourning his passing is his best friend and children’s Mom Janice Semeniuk, sister, Kriss (Ron), brother Mark, and nieces and nephews.
Paul was born on the family farm in North Springfield MB. He attended school in Oakbank and Transcona where he learned carpentry. Later he raised his family with Jan in Transcona where they made their home. Paul had an amazing work ethic and took on all types of work. He had the ability to fix or build most things. He worked most of his life as an independent contractor, building homes, cottages and everything in between, always taking pride in his work. All his life he worked with his hands, and they told the tale of that hard work.
His greatest joy was his children. His heart truly broke, when he lost his daughter Paula at the age of 16. His love and pride in his boys remained to his last breath.
Paul worked hard and played hard. He had a great sense of humor and loved to tease and joke. Times of relaxation were most enjoyed in a boat or on the shoreline, fishing. Camping and talking around a fire with a rum and coke press also was a favorite. He was a lover of animals and always had a dog at his side or in his lap, saying “Dogs are the best”.
The last few years Paul lived with his sister Kriss, her husband Ron, nephew Ian and doggy Islay, in East St. Paul. Our home feels empty without him here. He was loved.
Paul asked that there be no service.
We thank Cancer care, Palliative care nurse, Kija, and MAIDS for the kindness and gentle care of Paul. To our friends and family, Love and Thanks for your support this past year. It has made all the difference.
So let the tears fall when they come.
Let the laughter rise when memories bring warmth.
Let grief and joy coexist. For they are not opposites.
They are just love in different forms.

My deepest sympathies to the Family. The news of Paul’s passing has hit me hard. As life moves along and people drift apart as a result. Out of all the regrets I have in life. Our friendship drifting apart was one I thought of often and missed tremendously. From the first day I met Paul in high school I was drawn to his personality and integrity. I considered him not as a friend but as a brother. Unfortunately, as time went on and our life’s took a separate direction. He remained in my thoughts and my heart. Rest in Peace my friend. I pray that our paths cross once again and the next time I would let our friendship drift apart . - Posted by: Mark Killen (Friend) on: Dec 07, 2025

Extremely shocked and saddened to hear of Paul's passing! I met Paul back around 1986, he was a good friend to my at the time husband Mark Killen. We enjoyed many years of fun times with Paul and Jan and his brother Mark. Lost touch over the last several years as life takes people in different directions but always thought of him and his family while reminiscing. Mark Killen was really wanting to reconnect with Paul for quite some time now, however was unfortunately not able to get ahold of him. Sending strength, love and deepest condolences to Paul's family. May you all get through your grief together thinking of fond memories. Thinking of you...Rest In Peace Paul 😘 - Posted by: Teresa (Killen) (Friend) on: Dec 07, 2025
