NORMA JOAN (DUBOIS) POIRIER

March 16, 1939 – November 28, 2025

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Norma Poirier on November 28, 2025, in Winnipeg following a courageous battle with neuroendocrine cancer.

Norma is predeceased by her beloved husband, Richard in 2007.

She is survived and deeply missed by her devoted children, Lawrence (Lorie) and Pat (Bob); and her cherished grandchildren: Denise (BJ), Donald, Wesley, Melissa (Derek), Emily, Leslie (Jason), Shannon, and Robyn (Craig). She was a proud grandmother to great-grandchildren: Sophia, Alycia, Jenessa, Brennen, Taegan, Sean, Cullen, Tyson, Shane, Cooper, and Molly. She is also survived by and deeply missed by her brother Carl. Also, brother- in- law Don (Doreen), sister- in -law Millie, extended family and many good friends.

The family would like to thank all the staff at the Grace Hospice for their kindness and compassion during a very hard time. We are forever grateful for all your hard work and dedication.

As per Norma’s wishes, there will be no service. Interment will take place in the spring at the Elm Creek Cemetery next to her husband Richard in a private ceremony.

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • Norma was such a great mentor to me. Shortly after I started at Versatech, she started to show me how to run the operation always testing me with a "how would you do". It would turn into a friendship that continued well past her retirement. Often I would see her at Sobey's or Walmart and we would take the next ten minutes catching up. I will miss you Norma. Now you are back with Richard. - Posted by: Larry Bruce (Former co-worker) on: Dec 07, 2025

  • So sorry to hear of Norma's passing. We worked together at Buffalo Credit Union and stayed in touch over the years. She always wrote a note in her Christmas card and we caught up during a summer phone call. My deepest sympathy to your family. - Posted by: Derrelyn Re (feiend) on: Dec 06, 2025

  • My sincere sympathy to Norma's friends and family. She was a kind person and is sadly missed. - Posted by: Iva Wilson (friend, neighbour) on: Dec 06, 2025
