Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLORRAINE VICTORIA PARKS
Lorraine Victoria Parks passed away on November 18, 2025, after a short but courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Souris, MB. on July 6, 1945, to Victoire (Vicki) and William Schilling, Lorraine was the mischievous, youngest sister to Marlene (Walker) and Helen (Cherwinski).
Lorraine was a cherished sister, sister-in-law, wife, grandma, aunt, and friend - but her greatest role was that of our beloved mom. She left her career as a head nurse at the Misericordia Hospital to dedicate her life to the four of us: twins, Candace (Shawn) and Cristen (Jeff), Vanessa (Richard), and Tracy (Aaron).
Whether it was cheering the loudest at equestrian competitions, travelling to Mexico to help free a captive orca, or welcoming yet another exotic “animal in need” into our home. Our Mom always supported us; she made our dreams come true.
Lorraine is survived by our dad, Don, her partner of nearly 50 years of marriage. Together, they traveled the world. Their home is adorned with treasures from all over the globe. Mom’s favourite was a sunny beach, especially if there was a glass of wine involved. Our parents gave us a lifetime of family memories, traditions, and moments that shaped us all.
Mom was a big sports fan and enjoyed watching curling, tennis and show jumping. Her favourite athletes, however, were hockey players - Parker, Ashton and Corbin - her adored grandsons.
In early July, Mom celebrated her 80th birthday surrounded by friends and extended family from Victoria. These cherished moments feel even more precious now.
Mom, you are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
A private celebration of Lorraine’s life will be held in 2026.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to D’Arcy’s Animal Rescue Centre in Lorraine’s name to honour her beloved cat, Leo.
