Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • I have known Bob for a number of years as I have cut his wife’ hair for a long time at the shop I work at and in their home and Bob was very friendly towards me. It is sad to know he passed. - Posted by: Mike Gosselin (Wife’s hairstylist) on: Dec 21, 2025

  • A very special teacher to our classes in Camrose in the '60's....teaching, guiding, mountain climbing....all good healthy lessons in life, - Posted by: Ross Shuman (Student and friend from CamrosE) on: Dec 20, 2025

  • I first met Bob Hilton when he began teaching in Camrose, Alberta. I had graduated from grade 12, but had returned to take shop courses. I was one of the stage hands that helped him produce Macbeth. Another collection he valued was a printing press that was stored at his parents home in Shilo, Manitoba. So his good friend Alastair MacKenzie Elliott and drove my 1957 Chev pickup to Shilo and hauled the press to Camrose. To mark the occasion we resorted to the Chinese calendar and thereafter it was known as the year of the press. - Posted by: Frank Reid (friend) on: Dec 20, 2025

  • Svetlana and I would like to extend our condolences to Blaine, Yuna, Mrs Hilton and other Flewin/Hilton family members on the passing of your father and husband. Mr Hilton was a generational distinguished gentleman who helped me during my struggling student years as well as teaching me the words “ to buttle “. His charm and uniqueness will be sorely missed. - Posted by: James Welsh (Friend of his son) on: Dec 19, 2025

  • Bob Hilton ("Uncle" Bob to some) was my high school English teacher at Camrose Composite High School from 1961 - 1964. He was also the choirmaster at St. Andrew's Anglican church which I attended. We remained in contact for many years mainly through Christmas letters and several visits in Winnipeg. He had a profound affect on me - encouraging my writing and poetry endeavours, my love of choral music and theatre. I shall never forget him. - Posted by: Kathy Harper (Friend and former student) on: Dec 19, 2025
