George Hickey passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at the age of 82 at Concordia Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in George’s memory to the Kidney Foundation of Canada.

I worked at Macdonald's warehouse (Safeway) for 18 years and knew George during that period of time. He was always smiling and cheerful and well liked by many at the grocery warehouse, produce and later the frozen foods warehouse. We were very sorry to hear about George’s passing. Many fond memories of George. One being attending his wedding the night before our wedding. George was a quiet and a gentle man and even though we lost contact when we moved to BC he will be missed. Our thoughts are sent out to Brett and family.
