Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDNA BABIUK
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dearly loved mom, sister and grandma, Edna Babiuk on December 11, 2025. Edna was predeceased by her beloved husband, Walter Babiuk in 2014.
Edna was born on April 9, 1931, in Regina, Saskatchewan, to Mary and Valentine Grobowsky. She grew up in a large, fun-loving family alongside her sisters, Helen and Sylvia, and brothers, Raymond, Donald, Harold, Ronald and Larry. These early family bonds shaped her lifelong devotion to family and friends.
On August 13, 1960, Edna married Walter in Regina, and the couple soon moved to Winnipeg, where they built a home and family in Westwood. Edna was a wonderful and devoted mother to Saundra (Ralph) and Darrin (Cindi), and a proud and loving grandmother to Madison and Riley.
Known for her kindness and generosity, Edna was considerate to everyone she met. She had a wonderful sense of humor, carried herself with grace, and had a great sense of style. Fun-loving and welcoming, she enjoyed entertaining and creating meaningful moments with family and friends. Edna was hardworking throughout her life and embraced change with enthusiasm and positivity.
She will be remembered for her loving heart, her laughter, and the way she made others feel valued and cared for. Edna’s legacy lives on through the family she cherished and the many lives she touched.
A celebration of Edna’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 29, at 603 Wellington Crescent at Academy Road (Unitarian Church).

Edna was a very classy lady. She lived down the hall from me and we often would have a good chat. She loved doing puzzles and was good at them. I would see her on Thursdays getting a beautiful hairdo. We always waved as I walked past the salon. She will be missed here as we would love to see her latest outfit she was wearing. Sincere condolences to her family. - Posted by: Pam Ruby (Friend) on: Dec 20, 2025
