LILLIANE CATHERINE BOURRIER

(née AUGERT)

October 13, 1951 – December 22, 2025

Peacefully, with her loving family at her side, Lilliane passed away at St. Boniface hospital on Monday, December 22, 2025. Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 55 years, Norman; as well as their children, Nadine Richards (Jeffrey), Michelle Bourrier (Tash), and Joel Bourrier (Geneviève). She also leaves behind her two grandchildren, Gabriel and Léa, whom she loved with all her heart.

She is survived by her siblings; Jacqueline Timmerman (Léo), Gilles Augert (Michele), and Lynne Peloquin (Rénald), along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Lil was very close with her family and each of them were very special to her.

Lil was born and raised in Notre-Dame de Lourdes and later moved to Winnipeg. She married Norm and settled in St. Vital where she stayed home to raise their young family. In 1986, she joined Air Canada where she got a taste for travel and met many friends that she kept in touch with to this day. During these years, family time was spent at the cottage in Brereton Lake with trips planned whenever possible.

When she retired, Lil got to take full advantage of her love for travel and explored some incredible countries around the world with the love of her life by her side. These were her favorite years. She especially loved when her children and grandchildren got to come along. There was always another trip on the horizon, and she couldn’t wait to see it come to fruition. She and Norm spent their winters in Rincon de Guayabitos, and the rest of the year was spent supporting their grandchildren’s sports & school programs, catching up with friends at a good restaurant, or keeping active with their daily walks. There was always a family dinner to plan, or some reason to celebrate.

Lil was always putting others ahead of herself even when struggling with her own health battles. She loved her family fiercely and was the proudest mémé. Her sudden passing is being felt by all who knew and loved her. We know that our lives were better for having had her in them.

Mom, c’est difficile d’imaginer nos vies sans ta présence et ton amour constant. Tu resteras à jamais dans nos cœurs et nous t’aimerons éternellement. Tu nous manqueras pour toujours.

A private family gathering will occur at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.

  • To Lil's family and friends, I was fortunate to meet and work with Lil during my service with Air Canada. Lil was a lead and someone I respected and felt comfortable calling if an incident should occur that needed immediate attention. There was mention of health battles in which I hope she didn't have to perservere the hardships and pain all these years. For this to be sudden I realize that there is no preparation. Family and close ones quickly begin functioning in high alert mode to maintain their watchful eye and care. I am so sorry that she is gone. My heart goes out to all of you. Lil was a beautiful person and will forever be loved and adored. My condolences. Jill Palmer (McWhinney) It's the "Lil" things we will never forget. - Posted by: Jill Palmer (McWhinney) (co-worker) on: Dec 27, 2025

  • Mom was (and still is) the glue to our tight-knit family. She had a heart of gold and touched absolutely every person she ever crossed paths with. She was a force and her light shone so bright and will continue to. She loved hard. She was selfless, thoughtful, generous. She made us all stop to smell the roses. She loved unconditionally. She gave THE BEST hugs. Her skin was the softest. Her smile lit up every room she walked in to. She was stunningly beautiful (inside and out) and I know she will guide us as we try and navigate life without her. She had already earned her wings at birth. Mom, tu nous manques déjà tellement et je t’aimerai toujous plus. Repose-toi bien ♥️ - Posted by: Michelle Bourrier & Natasha Haines (Tash) (Daughter and daughter-in-law) on: Dec 27, 2025
