RAYMOND (RAY) RAICHE

Raymond was born in Winnipeg on April 13, 1937. He passed away peacefully on December 26, 2025. Ray had many loves, his family, friends, traveling, meeting new people and learning new cultures. He joined the St. Boniface Fire Fighters in 1960, Regiment 491 and became a Winnipeg Fire Fighter in 1972 when the fire departments amalgamated. Raymond retired as Captain from the Winnipeg Fire Department in 1990. Firefighting was his passion. Along with his wife Vivianne, they traveled Canada by car. From the Yukon and coast to coast. They also flew to Puerto Rico, Portugal, Spain and Cuba but found a love for Mexico where he learned to speak the languages and enjoy the culture. Through his travels he had developed a talent for photographing nature. He loved to feed and attract many species of birds and would build birdhouses and feeders. He also loved his aquariums which hosted many different species of fish. He along with his wife Vivianne were active volunteers within the parish of Precieux-Sang. He helped out wherever and whenever it was needed. A man of many talents, he would help people with sheet metal, carpentry and electrical projects. Ray was the kind of man that everyone could count on.

His family wish to thank to staff at Action-Margureite Tache for all their care and support. Cremation has taken place. No service will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Winnipeg Firefighter Burn Fund.

For you dad:

A firefighter since retired,

With courage in your heart,

Risked your life to save others,

Played a heroic part.

It's time for you to rest,

The final bell long since rung,

The ones you have inspired,

Will carry you in their hearts.

We thank you for your service,

For the lives you did protect,

For the bravery and selflessness,

That you never did neglect.

Your legacy lives on,

Your courage will inspire,

May your passing be blessed,

And your spirit never tire.

For all the lives you've touched,

For all the fires you've tamed,

We are grateful for your service,

And the hero you became.

Rest in peace dad.

Proud to be a Firefighter.
