PETER ALBERT SLIMMEN

December 9, 1936 - December 9, 2025

With heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Peter Albert Slimmen, on December 9, 2025 at the age of 89 years. Peter was predeceased by his parents, Lillian and Peter. He is survived by many friends and family members. Peter was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba and found a lifelong career working for the Canadian National Railway, making many friends along the way. Peter met the love of his life, Dorothy, and they lived happily together until her passing in 1995. Peter moved to Pinawa and spent the last 20 years enjoying the Manitoba Prairies and lake life. He joined the Grand Lodge of Manitoba where he met many brothers, who became very close friends and very important in his life. He spent his retired days driving to Lodge meetings and events, he had such a passion for this community. His brothers took great care of him right until his last day. Many thanks goes out to the nursing staff and doctors in Beausejour for taking such great care of Peter in his final days. He will be greatly missed by so many. As one of Peter's last requests, there will be no funeral service. A graveside service will be scheduled for the spring 2026. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, or a charity of your choice.
